Dracula Untold:
This film is truly a masterpiece. Universal slept on a potential sequel.
In all honesty, it’s not too late. Charles Dance is still a big name in tv/film. He is in a newer series titled “The Sandman.”
Luke Evans is a great actor. Both actors work well, together. The scenes in Broken Tooth Mountain Cave… awesome!
I recently watched “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” and seen similarities in the vampire, from the illustrations shown to Vlad in the film by the priest.
Anyone catch that?
Now, going further back… to Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 take on Bram Stoker’s classic tale, we get to see Vlad the Impaler become cursed another way… still similar, in drinking blood.
Both Luke Evans and Gary Oldman’s Dracula characters both lose control, over the loss of their love interest. This leads to their ultimate turning, and becoming a vampire.
While there are many takes on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, I feel that the following films, help to explain different parts of the “Dracula Story” with the connections between the three films.
1992 Bram Stoker’s Dracula
2014 Dracula Untold
2023 The Last Voyage of the Demeter
Also shown in the 1992 film, was a few brief moments of the “captains log” with Anthony Hopkin’s narrating the happenings on the ship.
Then, almost 31 years later… we are given “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” which truly goes into detail, about the happenings of the voyage from Transylvania to London.
