Keaton will be joined by Ryder, who played Lydia Deetz in the original “Beetlejuice,” and NetFlix “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega will play her daughter.
Justin Theroux will also appear in the movie, while Catherine O’Hara, who also starred in the original film, will reprise her role. She cracked me up, Lydia’s stepmother “Delia.”
Willem Dafoe is said to have a role in the upcoming film, as well. This is getting interesting. He’s such a great actor! He needs to be cast in more films.
Glenn Shadix, who played trendy designer Otho, passed away in 2010. Sylvia Sidney, who played the afterlife caseworker assisting the Maitlands, passed away in 1999.
There’s been no word of whether Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis’s characters “The Maitlands” will appear in the upcoming sequel.
Is there a possibility “The Maitland’s” could appear in flashbacks, or unreleased clips from the original film?
Does the film touch on their story, at all?
